Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking an AVP, Corporate Technology to oversee and lead key priorities for the Corporate Functions Value Stream, which provides technical support and strategy across the Human Resources, Learning, Legal, Audit and Corporate Services departments. In this position, you will leverage your expertise to lead and influence complex initiatives and partner with multiple stakeholders across lines of business to deliver a portfolio of solutions and capabilities with responsiveness/speed to market, efficiency, predictability and quality. You will optimize the flow of work and help the Value Stream creatively solve problems to accomplish outcomes by bringing visibility and championing continuous improvement. This role may manage others.

What Will You Do?
  • Lead and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Drive the implementation of vendor solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Act as a strategic partner to various business units, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions that drive growth and efficiency.
  • Optimize solutions across multiple teams by reducing dependencies and hand-offs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, to drive project success and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Monitor performance, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee program increment planning events
  • Build feedback loops through cross-team reviews and engage all key stakeholders, promoting faster learning cycles
  • Drive relentless improvement through multi-team retrospectives, metrics, assessment analysis, and other means
  • Create transparency into the progress of cross-team work through visible boards, operational metrics, forums, dashboards, etc.
  • Coordinate team building and cross-team communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge and experience with common SaaS vendors within these areas is preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in an agile/execution leadership role delivering technology solutions on a demanding schedule including delivery of several epics, releases and versions and application of a wide variety of patterns and techniques (i.e., multi-team planning techniques, facilitating retrospectives, dependency management, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge and a deep strategic mindset preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills and experience making decisions based on hard and soft data preferred.


What is a Must Have?
  • 7 years of relevant technology experience required.
  • 5 years people management or team leadership experience required.
  • 5 years of Program Management in an Agile environment or related experience required
